Two Months in Tahoe

Our summer in Lake Tahoe is coming to a close.

Here are some highlights of the trip:
  • celebrated our 12th Anniversary at the Beach Boy concert.
  • we all agree on "my favorite day" of the summer:  kayaking at Sand Harbor in celebration of Nate's 5th birthday
  • the most memorable days were when our friends, the Changs and the Birtlers, were visiting -  A whilrwind of fun!
The kids grew and hit milestones here at the lake.  Jack started the Harry Potter series and read the first two books in 3 days.  Nate learned to ride his bike and is starting to learn without training wheels.  Kate started solids, got a new tooth, and is just about to crawl.

We aren't suprised that we love living in the trailer.  We have settled into "living" rather than camping.
  • When camping, we have fires almost every night.  In the last 8 weeks, we have only had 4 campfires.
  • When camping, we pile dirty clothes until we return home.  Can't do that for 8 weeks.  So some days are set aside for housekeeping: laundry, cleaning the fridge, catching up on emails and bills.  This is always when we have hookups and can run the water.
None of us really want to go home.  We do though, want to see our family and friends.  Then, all we want to do it GET BACK IN OUR TRAILER!!!!

Here are some pics of our "Lazy Days in Tahoe."  (This is also the title of one of our favorite songs of the summer.  Sung by Darin Talbot, a Tahoe local who made the awesome CD Around Tahoe that we now know word for word.
